Permanent Deacons in the Diocese of Prince Albert

Permanent Deacons come from many different walks of life. They have varied careers before ordination and more than a few continue to hold secular jobs as well as diaconal appointments. Some deacons have been chaplains, lawyers, tradesmen, journalists, police officers, military officers and teachers. All Permanent Deacons bring into their ministry a wealth of life experience and a history of faithfulness to Christ and the Church.
Becoming a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Prince Albert means joining a brotherhood of Deacons serving across the diocese. Being the wife of a deacon means joining a caring community of wives supporting each other as they live the reality of being married to an ordained member of the clergy.
Over the years there have been group ordinations to the Permanent Diaconate in 2017 and in 2020.
