The 99th Annual State Council Meeting of the Knights of Columbus of Saskatchewan was held by Virtual video conference on April 16-17, 2021, due to the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic There was a call for Knights to hold fast to the Catholic principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity & Patriotism around which the Order was founded 139 years ago. Under the theme “In the Footsteps of the Father” State Deputy Joseph Riffel, the State Executive, and the delegates from around the Province celebrated the past year’s successes and deliberated on how to better serve the Church, its Bishops & Priests, and the community.

On May 26, 2020, Pope Francis approved a decree recognizing a miracle attributed to the intercession of Father McGivney. A much-anticipated step toward sainthood, the pope’s approval opens the way for Father McGivney to be beatified and declared Blessed.
