World Youth Day (WYD) is a global gathering of young people with the Pope, celebrated every few years in different parts of the world. While many associate WYD with these large international events, its roots come from the desire of young people themselves to come together in faith. The most recent WYD was held in Lisbon, Portugal in 2023, and the next will take place in Seoul, South Korea in August 2027.

WYD invites young people to encounter Jesus Christ in a real and meaningful way, alongside others from across the world. Through prayer, the sacraments, and shared experiences, it offers a powerful sense of the universality of the Church. It is a time to grow in faith, find hope, and recognize that you are part of a larger community walking together in Christ.

Our diocese is prayerfully preparing for a pilgrimage to World Youth Day, offering young people the opportunity to journey together in faith. This pilgrimage is more than travel; it is a time of spiritual growth, community, and encounter with Christ, where participants will take part in moments of prayer, formation, and fellowship alongside young people from around the world. Details regarding registration, cost, travel plans, and preparation gatherings will be shared in the coming months. We warmly invite those who are interested, as well as those still discerning, to stay connected and be part of this journey. Whether near or far, this pilgrimage is an invitation to grow deeper in faith and walk together as a diocesan family. For more information or to express your interest, please contact the Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office at youth@padiocese.ca or call (306) 922-4747.
