The blue sky represents the African sky, which is usually full of stars.  One of them is
called the Nosoroma star.   It represents the child of God who reflects the presence of
God.
The hilltop represents Bishop Thevenot’s home area of Manitoba with its wheat fields. 
The green field represents the fertility of the African soil in some areas.
The sheaf of wheat represents Saskatchewan and the city of Prince Albert. 
The open book is the Word of God.
The motto: Ut vitam habeant means ‘that they may have life’.   Bishop Thévenot wants 
the people of God to be taken up by the Spirit of Christ, alive and transforming this world 
by their witness.

 

Le ciel bleu d’Afrique est habituellement rempli d’étoiles.   Une de ces étoiles est la
Nosoroma. Elle représente l’enfant de Dieu qui reflète la présence de Dieu.
La  petite  colline représente les  champs  de  blé  du  Manitoba, province  d’origine de
Monseigneur Thévenot.
Le champ vert représente les régions fertiles d’Afrique.
La gerbe de blé représente la Saskatchewan et la ville de Prince Albert. 
Le livre ouvert représente la Parole de Dieu.
La devise : Ut vitam habeant signifie ‘Pour qu’ils aient la vie’.  Que le peuple de Dieu 
vive dans l’esprit du Christ et ainsi transforme le monde par son témoignage, voici le plus
grand désir de Monseigneur Thévenot.
