Who attends each training session?
Who are the sessions being organized for in the fall? Are they required to do my ministry?
A company named Winning Kids Inc. (http://www.winningkidsinc.ca) will be putting on multiple sessions for our diocese
On Friday, September 9 is the Training Day for Administrators from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Michael Parish in Prince Albert.
This session has been set up for those in Administrative positions such as Clergy and Parish Administrators, those operating a parish, and the Diocesan Responsible Ministry Committee (DRMC). The costs are covered by the diocesan budget. However, those in other areas such as Parish Assistants, Secretaries, members of the Parish Responsible Ministry Committees (PRMC) are also invited to attend this session as more specific questions on the Screening Process, References, Police Record Checks, filing and keeping track of the progress of ministry personnel will be answered. The cost is $100 per person.
On Saturday, September 10 is the Training Day for Deanery Trainers from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 at St. Michael Parish in Prince Albert.
This session will have limited numbers as only those who have come forward to help train others in High Risk Ministry Positions will be required to attend. Each deanery will have 3 people to help train within their area. Only these people need to be specifically trained on this day.
On Sunday, September 11 to Wednesday, September 14 are the mandatory Deanery Training Sessions. These training times are meant for all those providing High Risk Ministry Personnel in their parishes. The High Risk list is in Appendix 2 (See the Our Living Covenant binder). All people filling those ministries are required to attend a 2-hour training session. All sessions are open to all in the diocese, therefore, if you are unable to attend the session in your deanery, feel free to join another session in a different location. If you are not able to attend any of the sessions offered in the diocese, the 'Deanery Trainers' will offer a course in the fall. Dates will not be determined until after their own educational session.
On Wednesday, September 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael Parish in Prince Albert. At this time, it will be a time for Clergy only to learn and ask questions from Winning Kids Inc.
