Diocesan Programs
Goals of the DCCC office
- Continue to support, nurture, and train catechists – through spring and fall visits to catechetical coordinators in the parish, the newsletter (ten months a year), through spring and fall diocesan catechist gatherings, deanery training of catechists, etc.
- Promote the programs chosen by the Diocese for the teaching of catechesis and sacramental preparation
- Keep in contact with provincial (ACRES) and western coordinators of religious education (WCCRE) – continue to be knowledgeable about the direction of the National Office of Religious Education (NORE)
- Continue to work with the other Pastoral Team to offer intergenerational catechetical events
Next year’s additional goal of the DCCC Office:
- To form a catechesis commission
- With this commission, through a social analysis of the present realities of catechesis in our diocese develop an action plan
- Implementation of the action plan
- End of year evaluate how things unfolded and set the action plan for next year
